I usually just park my truck and make the 10 minute walk down to the quarry. The ledges on the opposite side of where people drive in is a lot quieter, less busy and there's easier access in and out of the water for swimming.
I live about 2 km away from the quarry and go about 4 days a week in the summer if anyone ever wants to meet up for a beer, j and a swim
Thanks a lot for the info! You sure hit the nail on the head describing those Ancient Forest Alliance folk haha.
I've been to the big lonely doug and it's pretty impressive. More so than the larger red creek fir just because it's in a clear cut and you can truly see how big it is.
I'm waiting for some nicer weather and then I'm going to go check out the big trees in the carmanah walbran
I wouldn't be surprised if they were trying to throw people off the trail. The article says its down a logging road and beside a salmon bearing creek. After referencing my backroads map book I figure it must be down gordon river main somewhere.
I'm going to go do some exploring on Saturday and see if I can find it. If anyone wants to come you're more than welcome.
