Looking for trails around Parksville area (Nanaimo, Comox, Port Alberni)

I am looking for some places to take my friends 1992 Pajero on. We're not too familiar with the 4x4 scene nor do we know anyone around here that does offroading. If anyone would be willing to show us around that would fantastic or anything information on some trails would be equally appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: Planning to go out tomorrow (Aug 22), if anyone wants to go for a quick run please let me know!

I dont know Parksville very well but I know Nanaimo's north end and Nanaimo Lakes/river quite well, I could show you around if you wanted to drive down.

Did you find any trails around Parksville/Qualicum Beach? I'm also looking.

I know of a few good spots around Horne Lake, and Port Alberni ranging from mild deactivated logging roads to very difficult quad trails depending on how much you are willing to abuse your ride. If you want to go exploring some time I can show you around.

Hey Rick, I'm new to the island and brought my quad with me. I'm willing to take it almost anywhere!! Would you want to go out for a ride sometime??

Rick, that would be awesome. I've upgraded my TJ to a 2011 JKU Rubicon. May not want to abuse it too much yet as it's pretty much stock. Winch and front bumper should arrive this week (if the gods of shipping and Canadian Customs are smiling on me). Installing a Cobra 75 WX ST tomorrow (assuming it's dry enough).

That sounds good Steve. I just boght a Suzuki x90 which has about the same capabilities as a tracker/sidekick. I would love to take it out for some wheeling. I could show you all the back roads. Most are pretty mild recently used logging roads. And Matt, you are welcome to come too. I could show you some more difficult quad trails but I'm going to take it easy on my new ride. I think I will keep it off the hard trails until I get feel for it.
