Looking for a camp spot where I can drive to which has few people and water

Hi,

We have been living on Vancouver island for 2.5 years now and tend to be let down when we head out to find peace from our busy schedules. Due to gates and loud people we are considering not even trying on the island anymore. We have driven almost all possible roads and checked out so many lakes/rivers on approx 20% of Vancouver Island (many hours of enjoyable driving). For example, yesterday when we went out we found previous locations we have enjoyed gated up and sooooo many loud party people everywhere. We are clean campers who enjoy nature when in nature, not country music parties and not old poop and trash that's been left behind.

What we are hoping is that someone could assist in providing information on somewhere to camp near water that may have difficult access and is within 5 or so hours of Victoria. We drive a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, nearly stock but has 33" KM2's. It has never proven us wrong, yet.

Thanks so much,

Nanaimo

We just spent some time at Nanaimo Lakes, The camp hosts do a good job enforcing the no noise after 10p.m. as well as the hours leading up to 10p.m.
Most of the camp sites are pretty large and they are not all jammed together so neighbors are heard but not seen for a lot of them, and the lake is great for swimming and fishing. It's completely off the grid but not hard to get to, they keep the out houses clean and garbage is picked up weekly. Aside from that it would take me showing you some tucked away places on the river in the Nanaimo area.
