im going up benson saturday! also takin a tour of the lakes behind benson with some friends. im going to try to get in off lakes rd. it looks like a hell of a trail. the other lakes are not well known. lucid is one. its roads is a creek. i think we will end up on the backside of boomerang. the old party spot. come join in. meet at mcds on nickol at noon. boomerang is accessible from nwbay rd. or dumount rd or biggs rd. wastelands! its usually quite the mud bog. it should be fairly dry.

its a great run through extensions. whiskey lake is are first break. about a half hour from chase river to south fork. its the best part of the run. it will be a park soon. its the utility corridor. come check it out. stuff ul see there u wont see any where. im sure ya looked at my pics i posted. its the best off roading. its a dirt play ground. the jeep club has multitude of different categories of trails. they side by side so u dont have to take the tough stuff. u get to see the huge new water works and the new monster hydro towers. whiskey lake. u get to drive the trans canada trail. nanaimo ridges are world famous. ever hear of the abyss? we going to drive right over it. lol. its world famous. a harewood plain. lots to see. its old cfb chilliwacks engineering depts land. and they played. blood farts up there. big old gun emplacement roads cut through the rock on top of the ridges. the world infamous extension coal hill climb. this was where nanaimo started. only 2 ways in now. they keep blocking it off.
will we be hitting whiskey lake at 1240. lakes road at 1pm. then its up benson.
Hi I'm new to the site and I'd like to come too but I'm tied up until noon at cassidy airport. Any chance of making this a bit later like 1ish?
I'm from the area but I've never had a4x4 out here until now.... I was just out that way today via Biggs/Dumont road but after almost getting stuck (if it were not for my locking centre diff I would have been) I decided to turn around because the trail was getting pretty hairy and I have never been out that way.... Was by myself... No cell service... No winch etc so would have been a bad time if I got stuck.

hey pajero! we hang together so we dont get stuck. we will be going slow. we will be in the hood and there is cell. my number is 250 709 3992. its mike. text please. try to catch up. if anything happens we will be close by. we are going in at where lakes rd turns to dirt. where south fork starts. about a mile up theres a gate and about a half km past the gate on lakes rd is a bit of an open area. someone dumped a lot of yard cuttings. some burnt looking stuff and a lot of gun shells. thats the way around the gate. im guessing. but at about 4km past the gate theres a steep road on ur right. thats the road up benson. father down the road on the left is to lucid. we will be crawling. take nanaimo river road to south forks then left onto dirt lakes rd if ur coming from cassidy. we will try to be slow. but i have to meet at noon. its been posted to long. so far 3 trucks and 5 guys. passenger will be drinkin. lol. im sure i can slow us down once we hit the dirt. beer breaks are easy to get happening. lol. look on a map before u come. or gps. we out to play. it all quite close there so give us a call if u get into any trouble. we not mudboggin. tag me back when u get this so i can erase it.

By Lakes Rd you mean Nanaimo Lakes Rd yeah? Nanaimo River Rd to White Rapids to Nanaimo Lakes Rd.. ok! I don't know that area all too well but I'll have my phone with GPS on it so I can probably find u guys...but I start to lose service out in the bush. I got your number so you can remove your number if you want.

i made a mistake. i meant south forks. its possible but most of that road in extension is fucked up. gates could be looked. take nanaimo river road to south forks then too lakes.
cell phone work all over benson. and area. just drive a few more feet. we up on the mountain where the towers are. hard not to get reception. we will be going through some parts of ur trail u drew but its a maze but not a large area. keep in contact. text me!
Are you taking extension? I'm coming from Duncan so I could meet you where nanaimo river rd meets south forks, if you're going by there anyway - saves me having to come right into town. Say 12:15ish?
If anyone else is coming from Vic/Duncan we should meet up before hand too.

what a great run. other than we seemed to got rained out. we all got some air. a great place to check out ur vehicle and not hurt it. gw git his rocker twice and took out a marker light. stock grand Cherokee.
