Four Wheelers' Code of Ethics
  • I will remain on established and designated roads and trails. I will obey gate closures and regulatory or trail-use signs. I will leave gates as I find them
  • I will respect and protect the environment and the land, both public and private. I realize that future use depends on my responsible actions
  • I will obey all traffic laws and regulations
  • I will not vandalize. I will restore or repair damaged trails, signs, camp facilities, water bars or drains on trails in a responsible manner
  • I will not litter. I will set an example to other backcountry users by carrying out more than I carry in
  • I will maintain the safety of my vehicle and equipment. I will carry recovery gear, an emergency repair kit, basic first aid supplies, survival food and equipment. I will keep firearms in a safe and secure place
  • I realize that my equipment, ability, the terrain, weather, and the traffic on the trail should determine my destination objective and travel speed
  • I will observe fish, game and trail rules
  • I will act responsibly to prevent forest fires
  • I will always stop and offer assistance to a fellow four wheeler
  • When encountering others, I will be friendly and courteous

Thanks to the Four Wheel Drive Association of BC (www.4wdabc.ca) for allowing us use their excellent code of ethics, and thanks to (ToyZuki) for suggesting we adopt a code of conduct for the bush as well as the forum.

While we may not be able to please everyone, following these basic guidelines will help ensure that existing trail systems remain open for use and our bush stays clean!

we aint allowed on any forestry roads! we need permission to be on private lands! we aint even allowed off the pavement in the city of nanaimo! its illegal for us to be anywhere other than public roads. the only dirt roads u are allowed on r to the parks. even at the lakes u have to pay. thats how u get permission. i say its all crown land and canada is based on socialism. u cant own land here. my father n his father went to war for this land. no one but the queen; rcmp royal canadian mounted police and hms, her majesty service, can stop u from going on any lands in canada. that includes ur back yard. thats why u cant shoot trespassers here. in the states u can.
