Hello All,

Born and raised on the Island but new to off-raoding. I bought an 01 TJ a month ago and look forward to doing some exploring this year. I'd be up for some intermediate trails that wont destroy my jeep or see it, me or both tumbling sideways down a steep side hill :) My jeep has a couple inches of lift and 31" tires so it's no "beast" but from what I've done so far it should be good for most adventures. It also has a winch on it which should make for some good entertainment if I have to use it :) Might be good to connect with a small group to go get "stuck" and get more familiar with our gear if anyone is interested? Maybe enlist the help of some more experienced folks to increase the odds of us getting home in one piece.

I'd also like to connect with people that want to find some good fishing holes (small lakes or rivers with good access for fishing). I'm located in the Cowichan Valley and hear that there's lots of good local trails.

Thanks Shane for a great site, look forward to meeting you at some point this year too!

Cheers,

Russell

Hey welcome to the site Russell - that's a nice looking jeep you've got there! There are lots of little lakes out there to discover, some quite remote. Keep an eye out for trail runs and hopefully we'll get a chance to meet up on the trails one of these days.

Welcome to the forum, I'm new to the Island but it seems there are good people here to show you around.

Saw that Jeep online when it was up for sale, looks real nice! Good buy.

Thanks and welcome to the Island! It's a little daunting trying to figure out where to go first, there's a lot of country around here and it's all new to me.

The jeep was a good deal but it's not perfect so it's just right for what I want to do :)
