Drove out from Sidney today, absolutely beautiful drive. Windy up and down road through the trees along side shawnigan lake and then koksila river. Becomes a gravel/dirt road after awhile. Most gates are unfortunately closed due to covid-19 and then ultimately I came to a closed gate blocking the rest of renfrew rd. But still a beautiful drive
I grew up around there, I miss when it was accessible. Seems like the gates have been shut since the CRD expanded the watershed a decade ago.
That’s a bummer! I was also up there a couple of weeks ago but the family and I only went as far as the Park gates to go and hike around the trails. I was planning on heading back another time to follow the old Renfrew Rd!
