Totally. It can be frustrating at times. But I’ve also seen the places that become widely used, and they get absolutely trashed. Mt. Sicker comes to mind. Can’t go through there without seeing piles of trash, beer cans, shotgun shells, and you’re lucky if you get home without a nail in your tire from all the pallet burning.
So, I see both sides for sure. In my experience, this forum has been great for sharing some spots publicly, and creating a platform to connect with people directly to get info about the more protected areas.

Via Cowichan Main? I haven't driven it recently but I think it's a heavily used route, and really the only way to get back and forth from Bamfield, so it should be open.
It’s open from the hwy 14 side. I’ve only gone as far as the Diversion Reservoir though, so I don’t know what’s beyond that.
