Go way further than you think. There's two hairpin turns and the second hair pin has a steep up grade and then there's a kind of gully on the left side of the road and up the side of that a stump and some small trees with ribbons and a narrow path right beside. That's it. Its another 500m or so to the end of the road so if you miss it just go to the end and work your way back. Tight turn around with steep drop offs at the end.

Took me a few tries. I didn't go far enough the first time because I was looking at other people's crappy maps and I thought the first hairpin turn was the only one so I stopped and looked around and failed. Had to go back because the kids were whining. Second time I went too high and stumbled around through the woods in pouring rain. Third times the charm. Hope you find it faster than I did. Never found the wings which are higher up the mountain, about 1/2 km further.

Have fun.

There's an overgrown track from Thelmita Place to the Private Road leading to Boneyard Main. Ive only seen it from the air (google) but I wonder....I wonder. Maybe if you went at night with your lights off, no one would notice. Then again, maybe it's gated at the Private Road. Thelmita is connected to Sarah Place which is off Otter Point Road.

I once drove from Shawnigan Lake to Sooke via Sooke Lake Reservoir and Leachtown in my Subaru 1800 GL wagon. The road down through the woods to LEachtown was a bedrock two track. Just as the road ran out, we found some teenagers camped at the river. They came across the river in their Chevy van and said we probably shouldn't risk it in our subby. But I hate going out the way I came in, so I went across the river and down the logging road on the other side of the river and came out, I know not where. It was probably Boneyard Main and I probably came out on Otter Point Road, but that was in 1992, before the gates went up, and before a plane landed in Sooke Reservoir and CRD closed it to adventurers for all time.

Don't know if it's too far for what you have in mind but the Mount Bolduc Forest Service Road that I did a post about a couple of days ago is about 2 hours from Victoria to the start of the FSR just off the Gordon Main and then about 1/2 hour to the top of Mount Bolduc with awesome views on a clear day. and an eerie airplane crash site to boot. Would be an easy and impressive climb for your interviewer. I did it on street tires the first time, before my kids woke up and freaked out when they realized how high we were.

There was no snow where I was. Yeah I know I had a long way to go. I saw there was snow up higher but I didn't know how high the road went.
