My Jeep JKU

It's a 08 Sport model. bought stock 1.5 years ago. now on 37" MTR's, and a pieced together 5.5" lift.
Wheel it almost every weekend with a group of friends. Has some dents and definitely the paint is screwed. gave up on the trail skinz. we run mostly quad trails.

I just bought a complete running parts jeep.
These things do happen.

At least you got a good attitude about it. Shit brakes , upgrade.

so yesterday the front ring and pinion decided to go an hour after the rear gave it up for good. LOL.

you can see all the metal at the bottom of the diff in the one pic. the other pic is after we towed it back from sooke and it was grinding the whole way back till the ring gear was like a disc

Careful doing that. Could have locked up on you. Had it happen to me in a car. Not fun.

So i managed to get the Jeep rolling in rear wheel drive the other day. till i get my gearing done.
I started the day at 11 and the jeep was on stands with o wheels and two blown diffs. i managed to get the front wheels mounted and its just a empty housing for now. the rear i completely swapped out a full rear end for another one that works. Now to do the gears in the original diff with some new 4:88's.
It was a lot of work and along day for doing it solo.

Turns out the diff i through under it has 4:10 gears, works a bit better then the 3:73.
Today i will give installing the gears a go in the rear d44. should be easier to do on a set of stands then in the jeep.

The rear d44 with the 4:10 is for sale. i would like to keep the axle shafts for spares, but for the right price i could let it all go.

you have patience, after axles breaking like that. I would have just went one tons. I know that day will happen for me and ill just have to cave and buy a dana60 to replace the 44 and a 14 ff to replace the semi floating rear i have. But having 1500-2000 to drop on axles isnt the easiest thing. I know nothing about jeeps really, just had friends who wheeled them with me, what size front axle are they running? I know in the chevy world we have 10 bolt front differentials which are basically exact to a d44 and a 10 bolt rear axle as well. ( biggest POS ever for the rear ) but after 35s they tend to break pretty easy if you giver some jam on the trails.

Thing looks nice though! And seems to have fun! Maybe ill see ya out there sometime!

P.s Driveway wrenching photos make me miss my old place. I gotta rent a nice house again and get me some space! Nothing beats beers and tools on a sunny day

The Sports and saharas come with a read D44 and a front d30
rubis come with front and rear d44's

The front d30's are sort of a hybrid d30/44 though. same tubes just different pumpkin
