Hill 60 Staging area a different perspective

Hey everyone! Most of you know or have cut your teeth on the VIO forum at Hill 60.
Today work had us heading up Island to Chrome Island lighthouse for a day trip on the helicopter and I noticed where our flight path was going, so I snapped a picture of the Hill 60 staging area as we flew past!
Roughly 1000ft above the deck.

That's pretty cool! You could probably scout a lot of potential trails from up there.

Glad you guys liked it!
Well basically an auto and HD mechanic by trades. In a nutshell my family and I moved to the Island last fall and I got a job working at the Coast Guard maintaining and repairing the power systems for the lighthouses, radar and communication stations on the Island and a few on the Sunshine Coast ( Only having started in Feb I am told there are many spots to look after that I have yet to see! This virus thing is making things interesting for sure though! A lot of day trips for a while yet. Lol) This gig is right up my alley!!

And I seen so many roads !!! and Alex (iruninca) here on VIO got me on maps.me and it works not too bad at all! So I was playing while flying and I even spotted the lakes I was eyeing up for a potential loop run I saw in the BRMB ! A loop from Nanaimo to go past First , Second, Third Lake then go South to Jump lake then back up to Nanaimo River rd. Gates pending of course.

Have either of you ever tried this ? Or run the Chemainus River Rd to Jump Lake from Hwy 18 at Hill 60?

I always thought that there were quite a few gates on and around the jump main road, but I’ve never actually explored to see for myself.

Good to know! My older book is showing a few gates for sure but I guess I’ll end up finding out whenever I get out there to see it! It looks like it would be really nice in there!

Yea it does too. You’ll have to report back and let me know how it is, as I haven’t explored there yet.
