Skutz falls

Hay everyone, I live in Sooke but enjoy the wheeling around Cowichan, I’ve got to know Hillcrest, Prevost/Sicker, Hill 60 And those areas quite well but I was wondering if anyone wanted to show me the Skutz falls area? I have a capable rig that I prefer the body doesn’t get to mangled but if it happens I don’t cry about it lol. Looking to head out on the 15th which is on a Sunday, hope to see some of you out on the trails soon!

Tempting. I haven't been out by Skutz falls way for quite a few years now.
Plans are tentative over here for a camping weekend with the GF though.
If those plans fall through we may be up for a wheelin day instead...

Can't do anything too extreme, only running 29's on a 2" lift so no boulder fields for this guy. ;-)

If I don’t get much interest about the falls I’ll probably end up around Hill 60 to Hillcrest, your rig would definitely be able to handle that if you want to come out and play lol.

I've been meaning to explore Hill 60 as well. I heard there is a rhodonite mine up there..

Sounding on another site that Skutz falls is all trenched and gated so might just go play around Hill 60 to Prevost instead. I’m hoping that I can get a few people out to just go have some fun in the hills.

Tomorrow I'm busy with family stuff Sunday I'm heading out to do some trail trimming and I might go up and look at the rocks and see how hard they are going to be to get through

I'm avoiding the Malahat today and putting around in the Muir/Tugwell area to look for Chanterelles and pine mushrooms with my girl Stacey.
I have every other weekend off now so if there's another Hill 60 area run in a couple weeks I'd be down for it.
Have a great run and happy Thanksgiving!

Yes avoiding the malahat is a good idea this weekend I'm just headed out to work on the bush tin trail that I've been clearing heading out to look at the rock slide but we ran into last weekend and see if there is an easy way to make it through. Hope everyone is having a good weekend

So I think the plan for the 15th will be will be to meet at the Tim Hortans on the corner of the highway and Drinkwater rd at 9:30. if anyone would like to come and do some exploring or if someone from that area want to meet up for a bit and talk that would be cool.

I’m wanting to go to Hill 60 and hope to find some new trails around there. I’m wanting to meet people at the Tim Horton’s at the highway and Drink water on Sunday at 9:30. See who all shows up and then come up with a plan.

I'd still like to get out for this but I'm still not 100% sure what other surprises the weekend may hold that could get in the way...
The rig isn't built up enough yet for really rough trails though, just running on a 2" lift, 29's, no winch or lockers.

I don’t mind taking it easy. There’s trails around that area that’s good for all kinds of rigs

I drive the same thing i just have a 2 inch on suspension and 2 inch on body with 29 your rig will go any were on hill 60 easy

I've been on some of the trails Hill60 has to offer....im locked/locked on 35s and have had to use my winch. Not everything in that area is "easy" if you're looking for some harder things to do, you will find it there if you look hard enough.

Have fun guys, wish I could join you.

The thing you're likely to damage is if you have plastic mud flaps. Mine are long gone now. ;-P

just got back in through skutz and straight up. pop out on k line over towards a x and y line, Started pushing a old road that is pretty bushy. Direction west! Its stock friendly but scratches more than likely LoL There is alot of ways in still from skutz if you have a good rig. cleared probally 20km today.

I'm in, loaded up everything I could think for a day in the bush, including my mushroom bucket, just in case. ;-)
Looking forward to finally getting some Hill 60 dirt on the Tracker, should be a fun day...
