Heading to the Okanagan for a week...

Well, I Stacey and I are heading out in the morning to the Okanagan for a week.
We need to take some time off from island life to get some sun, have some fun, do a bit of business promo so we can write off the expenses, and of course, get some wheeling in while we're there. The old man has no idea I'm going to show up at his door around dinner time so that should be a nice surprise for him for fathers day since we usually don't get to see each other more than once or twice a year at best.

The Whipsaw Trail is still on the bucket list of wheeling adventures to go on but it's not gonna happen this time. Need to have my bumper and winch set-up done and at least one or two other wheelers to go with. I'm thinking about heading up Greyback main then skip over the 201 to Myra and then to Little White mountain. I heard there is some good rock crawling there so it sounds like it would be a good day trip from Penticton. Probably gonna do the"shortcut from Penticton to Kelowna" via Naramata to Chute Lake to Mission as well and maybe hit Mt Christie behind the Skaha bluffs. I used to sneak in to the Skaha bluffs and Mt Campbel with my friends and wheel around all the time when I was a kid but they're both legitimately on private property and or managed land reserves and gated off now so that's unlikely. With so many places wide open there to go wheeling in, there's no need to risk intruding on private property or gated areas to get some dirt time in.
We're going to take the Princeton to Summerland backroad on our way out there as well so we can check out some of the sights and sites along the way. ;-)

Hope everyone has a good fathers day weekend, stay safe and keep your wheels down!

I drove from Naramata to Kelowna via the kettle valley rail and some logging roads up there. Was a fun trip, about 5 years ago I think. Wasn't really looking for much wheeling at the time but found some cool mountain bike trails and structures close to Kelowna! One day I'll be back in the area and explore further

Safe travels! I'm headed that way in August, looks an amazing area and I can't wait to explore it! Keep us posted with pictures when you can!

I think the BC overland Expo is happening this coming weekend. Looks like a sweet event with tons of courses and trail rides. Check it out if your in that area.

Trip reports plz. I was supposed to go up to the okanagan this weekend too, but opted for a spot by the Klanawa river instead.

also, i honked to pull a guy over in a white tracker, on Jordan main Friday morning, thinking it was you. It was obviously not. But the guy had a seriuous set up. his roof rack was made out of ABS, and he filled it with water, to make a solar shower system, light bars, spot lights, jerry cans, the guy had everything but a lift.
